Why ODU for Project Management?

A Project Management Professional (PMP)® credential from the Project Management Institute is one of the most requested and recognized certifications for project managers. Our Project Management Certificate includes all concepts, management tools and processes required for overseeing projects in the workplace. It will provide the core knowledge needed to pass the PMP® Exam.

This nine-month certificate program is for engineering and/or technology professionals.

Once you earn your certificate, you will also qualify for ODU’s Project Management Professional Exam Preparation class at a discounted rate.

Required Courses

You will watch pre-recorded lectures in four Engineering Management courses and attend a live, online discussion on Friday evenings. The courses are on an accelerated schedule, so you will complete two courses in one regular semester.

Learning Environment

Attend class online from any location. The pre-recorded lectures can be accessed online at any time during each course. You will login online at a specific time each Friday for the discussion portion of each course.

Careers in Project Management

This certificate can expand your opportunities in your engineering or technical career.

By completing this certificate, you may be eligible to apply 12 academic credit hours to an ODU graduate degree in Engineering Management or Systems Engineering.

Calculating Cost

  • In-state Virginia Residents$551 per credit hour*
  • Out-of-state Students$595 per credit hour
