    Your coursework will include professional education, a practicum, and a Teacher Candidate Internship.

    If you do not have a bachelor's degree in the content area you wish to teach, you will need to take additional courses for in your content area.

This program is designed for students who have a non-teaching bachelor's degree. It will prepare them to obtain a Virginia initial teaching license for grades 6-12.

  • This program is designed for Virginia teacher licensure. You should have a non-teaching bachelor's degree in liberal arts or sciences. If your degree is in a different area, you may need to take prerequisite courses.

    You will apply to ODU as a graduate student and submit a separate application to this program in ODU's Darden College of Education.

  • You may be able to take up to four courses (12 credit hours) as a non-degree graduate student, before you are accepted into a specific degree program.
