Now more than ever, school-age students are finding success with online education. Educators need to know how to structure lessons for online teaching to maximize learning and engagement for elementary and high school students.

Our online certificate program teaches educators online learning methods, strategies, management, designs and resources. These will better prepare you to teach students in an online environment. This hands-on program includes interactions and close consultation with experts in the field. Your class projects include assignments that you can use with students in your own online classroom.

You don't have to be an educator to take this certificate. If you are, each of the online courses in this certificate can count for 90 re-certification points for in-service K-12 teachers in Virginia. Faculty from the Instructional Design and Technology department and the Teaching and Learning department teach these online courses.

You can apply these courses toward ODU's master's degree in Instructional Design and Technology
