The Shift to BBAY with 8-Week Terms
Borrower-Based Academic Year Funding
Beginning Fall 2026, ODUGlobal will use a Borrower-Based Academic Year model for federal loan eligibility and disbursement for online undergraduate and master’s students enrolled in 8-week terms. This change helps align your loan year with your personal enrollment schedule, rather than a fixed fall and spring calendar. Pell Grant eligibility and disbursement will remain the same.
Your annual loan limits will not change, but the timing of your loan eligibility or disbursement may shift based on when you enroll and complete required credits and weeks of instruction.
