Why ODU for data science?

Become familiar with data science and the ethics of data use. Our minor in Humanities and Data Science introduces key topics related to data analytics, preparing you to participate in data science related fields.

You will learn how to research and use data responsibly with topics such as:

  • the connections between machine learning and data,
  • survey research,
  • programming with Python and R,
  • statistical learning,
  • model evaluations,
  • digital engineering,
  • and more. 

You will learn how decisions made about data inform policy and product development across industries. You also will explore ethical questions related to collecting, interpreting, and acting on data.
