Well-qualified ODU undergraduate students in the online computer science bachelor’s degree program can take up to 12 credit hours of graduate coursework that count toward both their bachelor’s and master’s degrees.
After finishing your undergraduate degree, you can move directly into the Master of Science in Computer Science (MS) program, which can be completed in as little as one academic year.
Entrance Requirements
- Complete at least 60 undergraduate credit hours, with at least 24 credit hours from ODU.
- Complete CS 361, CS 381, MATH 212, and all associated prerequisites for those courses.
- Achieve a cumulative GPA of 3.0 (or higher) and a GPA of 3.0 (or higher) in CS and MATH courses.

What Should I Do First?
- Let your advisor or Student Success Director know you're interested in the Linked BSCS to MS program. They'll help you map out your undergraduate coursework to make the most of shared credits.
- Apply to the MS program during your senior year, after earning at least 60 credit hours. You must apply for admission to start the MS program in the semester immediately following completion of your BSCS.
- Submit the full graduate application, including letters of recommendation and any other required materials.
- Once admitted, inform the Graduate Program Director at csgpd@cs.odu.edu that you are part of the Linked Program.
