Why ODU for Mechanical Engineering Technology?

Our online mechanical engineering technology program has two areas of concentration:

  • Manufacturing Systems, which includes robotics and computer integrated manufacturing, and
  • Mechanical System Design, where you'll learn design, building and installation of all types of mechanical systems ranging from thermal and AC systems to production equipment and power systems.

You will select a minor in engineering or science.

ODU's Mechanical Engineering Technology program is accredited by the Engineering Technology Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board of ABET, http://www.abet.org.

Graduates are eligible to take the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam. This is the first step to licensure as a professional engineer in Virginia and many other states.
