At ODU, we've embraced an entrepreneurial and innovative approach to education, service and career development. 

In our online certificate program, you'll learn the basics of entrepreneurship and choose classes to boost the skills you need, whether your new venture is public, private, or non-profit.

This certificate is open to all ODU undergraduate juniors and seniors. You may be able to count two courses from your major toward this certificate program.

    • 12 credits (four courses)
      1. Take one foundation course on entrepreneurship.
      2. Select two courses that focus on skills you will need as an entrepreneur. These classes cover functional areas such as sales, project management, communication, leadership, and finance. If you have already taken some of these courses as part of your major, you can count them toward this certificate, too.
      3. Finish with a capstone course that includes a project in your area of interest.
  • Access course materials online from any location. Some classes will have live, regular online meeting times, while others will not. The instructor may schedule assignments and exams at specific times. All courses follow ODU's regular academic calendar.

  • This undergraduate certificate in entrepreneurship is a great addition to any professional's resume. We recommend this certificate if you want to:

  • If you're an ODU undergraduate student, you should have junior or senior standing to start this program. Contact your advisor to add this certificate to your undergraduate studies.

    Non-ODU students are welcome to take this certificate by applying to ODU as a non-degree seeking student.

    Those whose native language is not English must submit a minimum score of 230 on the computer-based TOEFL or 80 on the TOEFL iBT.
