Why ODU for a minor in children's rights?

This interdisciplinary minor explores child rights within and across diverse disciplines, both in the U.S. and internationally.

By taking an interdisciplinary approach, this minor aims to challenge traditional approaches to child studies that often deny or fail to recognize children’s human rights and dignity.

Your courses will frame the study of children within the larger framework of human rights. You will explore children’s rights and status as a group within society, and the rights of children in social science research and theory, literature, the arts, humanities, education, counseling, law and public policy.
