Why ODU for Mission Engineering?
Mission Engineering combines systems engineering (SoSE) tools and practices with the tactical insights of operational planning. You'll report findings through investigations, analysis, exercises, experimentation, and systems engineering. These identify operational needs that can assist specific programmatic guidance
In this certificate program, you'll learn the difficulties of working with complex, socio-technical systems, or system of systems. You will hone your planning, decision-making, and execution skills to work in transformational environments.

Military Focus
This certificate is designed with Navy requirements in mind as driven by operational needs.
You will learn to integrate the Fleet, Technology, and Acquisition communities to create advances in war-fighting capabilities across mission areas.
Course selections can also be customized for other areas of focus.

You'll take a total of four courses from the department of Engineering Management & Systems Engineering: one core course and three electives.

Access course materials online from any location. Some classes will have live, regular online meeting times, while others will not. The instructor may schedule assignments and exams at specific times. All courses follow ODU's regular academic calendar.

How to Apply
To apply, you must have a baccalaureate degree from a regionally-accredited institution or an equivalent degree from a foreign institution. Those whose native language is not English must submit a minimum score of 230 on the computer-based TOEFL or 80 on the TOEFL iBT.
