Choose upper level courses from several  laboratory science disciplines or focus on one area such as:

  • Hematology
  • Microbiology
  • Clinical chemistry
  • Immunohematology

This minor does not offer clinical practicum courses.

Completion of this minor does not confer eligibility to write national certification examinations.

    The courses in this minor have prerequisites. If the prerequisites courses are not already a part of your undergraduate program, they may increase your total credit hours. Substitute of non-MLS courses require the permission of the program director.

    A minor can only be earned as part of an undergraduate program. Talk with an ODUGlobal enrollment coordinator to determine if you have credits that will transfer.

  • Access course materials online from any location. Many classes don't have a scheduled meeting time, so you can fit class into your personal schedule. The instructor may schedule assignments and exams at specific times. All courses follow ODU's regular academic calendar.
