This Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Nurse Executive program focuses on executive leadership skills for nurses. You'll work with vulnerable populations, fiscal and human resource management, quality magnet achievement, emerging technology and organizational research in clinical issues.

    You will participate in executive internships throughout the program in your home area. You're also required to travel to main campus ODU once a semester for a long weekend of advising and experiential activities. Upon program completion, you'll be eligible to take the national certification examination.

    Talk with an advisor to determine if you have credits or clinical hours that will transfer.

  • Attend class online on a regular schedule and access course materials online from any location. All courses follow ODU's regular academic calendar.

    Additionally, you must participate in executive internships throughout the program in your home area. You are also required to travel to ODU's School of Nursing in Virginia Beach once a semester for a long weekend of advising and experiential activities.
