Learn the cyber security systems and the threats they face in this online certificate. You'll complete the program prepared to analyze cyber security risks and to prevent, detect and recover from cyber attacks.

This program takes advantage of ODU's strengths in cyber systems, computer engineering, software engineering, and modeling and simulation. We've designed this certificate to benefit current professionals as well as graduate students.

When you graduate, you will earn an Advanced Engineering Certificate in Cyber Systems Security. This certificate is designed both as a complement to a graduate degree and as a way for professionals in business, healthcare, government, military, and homeland security to expand their knowledge.

    You will take four predetermined courses to complete this certificate.

  • Participate in live, regularly scheduled online class meetings and access course materials online from any location. All courses follow ODU's regular academic calendar.

  • You must have a baccalaureate degree in engineering or a related STEM field from a regionally-accredited institution. Prerequisite courses are required in college-level mathematics, calculus-based physics, and introductory programming. Note: Current Master of Engineering students at ODU are not eligible to take this certificate.
