As a mechanical engineering technology (MET) student at ODU, you will take courses in areas such as computer-aided drafting, statistics, strength of materials, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, automation and controls, and computer solid modeling. You will also complete a minor in engineering or science and a senior project.
You can focus your studies in our online mechanical engineering technology program with electives or by choosing one of four concentrations.
When you graduate, you will earn a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology with a major in Mechanical Engineering Technology.
ODU's Mechanical Engineering Technology program is accredited by the Engineering Technology Accreditation Commission of ABET, www.abet.org.
Graduates are eligible to take the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam. This is the first step to licensure as a professional engineer in Virginia and many other states.
