Why ODU for Cybersecurity?

At ODU, we've designed our cybersecurity studies to give you a broad foundation with classes in multiple fields, such as computer science, engineering, information technology, criminal justice, and philosophy.

This interdisciplinary (IDS) minor in cybersecurity will provide you with foundational knowledge in computing, communications, policies that govern the Internet, and ethical and social uses of the Internet. Your courses will give you hands-on experience with virtual lab sessions to identify and troubleshoot potential security lapses. You'll also be able to select courses that match your interests, in topics like digital forensics or network security.

No matter what major you pursue, this minor can give you the knowledge to prevent or respond to the cyber incidents you're likely to encounter in your career.
