ODU’s Distance Learning Roots Begin with the Military

For over 35 years, Old Dominion University has been providing service members with innovative and accessible education to support their military careers and beyond.

Programs to Build Your Future

ODUGlobal features programs that build on your experience and may award academic credit for military training. Popular online programs include:

Military servicemembers, veterans, and their dependents are welcome to apply for any online program delivered though ODUGlobal.

Gain Credit for Previous Training or Education

Have credits from multiple schools? Before you apply, our enrollment team can review all your transcripts to see which credits may transfer to ODU. This unofficial transfer evaluation is free, no commitment required.

We'll also review your military service transcripts to find credits that transfer to ODU.

The College Level Examination Program® (CLEP) is another great option to gain college credits for what you already know. CLEP exams are available at no cost for most active duty, reserve, or National Guard service members. ODU accepts multiple CLEP scores.

Specialized Support

We know the military community very well after decades of partnerships. So well, in fact, that ODU has a whole department dedicated to military student needs. ODU's Military Connection Center is the central place to find guidance on tuition, finance processes, and other resources for military service members, veterans, and their dependents.

ODU has programs in place to provide academic, professional, and transitional support to military-affiliated students.

Partnerships

ODU is proud to be a part of several military education affiliations. Many of these partnerships offer financial aid to military personnel and veterans.

We also offer classes in partnership with community colleges and military installations.
