Military, Veterans, & Dependents

For over 35 years, Old Dominion University has been providing service members with innovative and accessible education to support their military careers and beyond.

I recommend ODU, especially if you're a veteran. The service that they provide to veterans is great. There's no better, in my opinion.

  • When Savann Thorn left the Army, he knew he'd need education to help his transition to working in the civilian world. He started at Tidewater Community College and earned his Associate of Science in Business Administration, and then finished his bachelor's in Business Administration online focusing on Finance with Old Dominion University.

  • Dr. Narketta Sparkman-Key, Old Dominion University's director of faculty diversity and retention in Academic Affairs and associate professor in human services, knows a thing or two about being a college student with a full time life. "I was one of those people," she said, surrounded by pictures of her kids on her desk. "I got my PhD online as a single mom with two kids."
