U.S. News & World Report Recognizes ODU Online Programs
Jan 31, 2013
Accolades for Old Dominion's online degree programs continue to roll in - this time with recognition from U.S. News & World Report.
The vaunted magazine listed ODU's online graduate nursing program as the 28th best in the nation in its 2013 rankings of higher education institutions. In addition, ODU's online graduate programs in engineering and education received rankings of 43 and 68, respectively, and the university's online bachelor's degree program ranked 71st in the nation.
U.S. News & World Report based the rankings on information provided by individual institutions in multiple surveys.
Online graduate nursing degree program results were tallied based on scores in four main areas: student engagement; faculty credentials and training; admissions selectivity; and student services and technology. The online bachelor's and graduate nursing and education program rankings were based on the same criteria. The graduate engineering program ranking methodology also included a peer reputation category.
The honor comes several weeks after the Open Education Database (OEDb) named ODU's online computer science program the fourth best in the country in its 2013 Online Colleges rankings.
