What is Guaranteed Admission?

Take Advantage of Guaranteed Admission
If you are enrolled at a Virginia Community College or another college we have identified, you can indicate your desire to participate in Guaranteed Admission by submitting a Letter of Intent to Transfer.
The Letter of Intent must be submitted:
- After you complete at least 15 transferable credits with a minimum 2.5 GPA;
- But before 90 days prior to graduation from an approved institution.
Only students with intention to complete a transfer-oriented associate degree are eligible to submit the Letter of Intent and participate in Guaranteed Admission.
To be eligible for Guaranteed Admission, you must:
- Meet all ODU admission requirements.
- Be in good standing with all current and previous institutions and able to meet the expectations of ODU's honor code of ethics.
- Graduate from a transfer-oriented degree program at an approved college with a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA.
- Approved colleges include Virginia Community Colleges and certain college systems outside Virginia.
We suggest that you submit our online Letter of Intent so we may assist you in preparing for transfer. In addition, when you submit the Letter of Intent, we guarantee that your degree requirements will not change if you graduate from ODU within six years.

I'm Ready. What Are My Next Steps?
Our ODUGlobal enrollment team offers a complimentary unofficial transfer evaluation, assessing any previous college work completed, including military transcripts.
They'll also answer your questions about our bachelor's degrees and help you find the best match for your career goals. Once you decide on a career path and degree program, we will provide pre-advising support while you work towards completing your associate degree.
To participate in Guaranteed Admission, we encourage you to submit a Letter of Intent. This notifies ODU of your intent to complete a transferable associate degree and apply. While not binding, submitting the Letter of Intent gives you the opportunity to proactively plan for your academic journey and success at ODU.
After you submit the Letter of Intent, your Enrollment Coordinator will send an application fee waiver code, so you can apply to ODU for free! Just enter the code when you submit your application to ODU.
You can apply to ODU after you:
- Submit the Letter of Intent to Transfer, and
