Why ODU for Sociology?

Our online sociology program will give you a broad foundation in sociology, covering topics such as:

  • social inequality
  • family
  • education
  • socialization
  • gender roles
  • ethnic and minority relations

You'll also have the option to add an emphasis in criminal justice.

Exceptional students may participate in the departmental honors program. This provides students with access to advanced studies and independent work with department faculty.

When you graduate, you will earn a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science in sociology.

Note: Only the Bachelor of Science is available as a full program online. However, both the Bachelor of Arts and the Bachelor of Science are available as degree-completion programs, which assume you have prior college credits.

I hope my story, my experience inspires other senior citizens who have faced obstacles to getting a degree. It can be done if you have the motivation and ambition.
