Why ODU for hospitality management?

Hospitality needs people-first leaders who can drive revenue, deliver standout guest experiences and keep operations running smoothly, especially in Hampton Roads where tourism is a major employer. Our Hospitality Management Certification blends online classes with optional property tours and talks with industry leaders to turn theory into practice.

In this program, you will:

  • Build skills in sales and marketing, hotel operations, and personnel and financial management.
  • Complete AHLA Guest Service Gold and, with a passing exam, earn the Certified Guest Service Professional credential.
  • Prepare for supervisor and assistant manager roles with revenue, budgeting, safety, security and service excellence.

After twelve modules, you'll be ready to advance in lodging and tourism roles and prepared to apply for the AHLEI Certified Hospitality Supervisor exam.
