This online program in educational leadership leads to Commonwealth of Virginia licensure in Educational Administration and Supervision, PreK-12.** It is a cohort-based program.
Our program begins with an administrative skills portfolio assessment. Your online coursework will provide conceptual and theoretical knowledge. Program themes include:

You will also complete field-based experiences where you will learn how to apply your knowledge and skills into effective practice.
When you graduate, you will earn a Master of Science in Education with a concentration in Administration and Supervision. ODU's concentration area in educational administration and supervision is approved by the state of Virginia and is fully accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education.

Required Courses for the Online Educational Leadership Program
- 30 credit hours, including internships
For this online master's program in educational leadership, you will complete 24 credits of content coursework and six credits of clinical experiences. 120 internship hours are embedded throughout the content coursework.
This degree is cohort-based, which means you will take a specific sequence of courses with a defined group of fellow students.

Online Learning Environment
Participate in live, regularly scheduled online courses and access materials online from any location. All courses follow ODU's regular academic calendar. This program requires internships as part of the coursework.

Virginia Licensure
** You do not need three years of educational experience to apply to this program. However, to be eligible for an Administration and Supervision preK-12 license in the Commonwealth of Virginia, you must have completed three years of successful, full-time experiences in a public or accredited nonpublic school in an instructional personnel position with licensure as a teacher or school counselor.
ODU's MSEd concentration in educational administration and supervision is approved by the Commonwealth of Virginia. If you're seeking teacher licensure or endorsement in another state, we encourage you to check your state's requirements before you apply.

How to Apply
To apply for this program, you must currently be employed by a public school division/district or private school. There is a separate application for this program in addition to standard graduate admission to ODU. GRE/GMAT are optional.
