Why ODU for a Training Specialist program?

You'll learn the skills to assess problems and propose training solutions. The goal is to improve productivity through workforce training. As a training specialist, you will work with subject matter experts to build training curriculum in virtually any type of work setting.

The coursework in this program is based on the latest research by the Association for Talent Development (formerly American Society for Training and Development, ASTD).

When you graduate, you will earn a Bachelor of Science with a major in Occupational and Technical Studies and a Training Specialist concentration.

Required Courses

To earn a bachelor's degree from ODU, you must complete at least 30 credit hours with us. This bachelor’s program requires 120 total credit hours.

Talk with our enrollment team to determine if you have credits that will transfer or to start an application. The curriculum sheet can serve as a guide for planning your course of study.

Online Learning Environment

Participate in live, regularly scheduled online class meetings and access course materials online from any location. All courses follow ODU's regular academic calendar.

  • Out-of-State Students$407 per credit hour

Active duty military students may qualify for a discounted undergraduate tuition rate.
