U.S. News Ranks ODU Among Best Online Programs

Old Dominion University has once again been rated as one of the nation’s top schools for distance learning, according to U.S. News & World Report’s 2021 Best Online Programs rankings. Old Dominion University′s online programs are among more than 1,200 programs surveyed by U.S. News.

Six ODU programs earned recognition, led by the graduate computer information and technology, which ranked No. 27, up four spots from 2020. The online graduate engineering program moved up six spots to No. 45. It’s the second straight year the engineering program improved its ranking. In 2020, it moved up 11 places.

ODU’s rankings are:

#25 in  Best Online Bachelor's in Psychology Programs 
#27 in  Best Online Bachelor's in Business Programs (tie) 
#27 in  Best Online Master's in Computer Information Technology Programs (tie) 
#45 in  Best Online Master's in Engineering Programs 
#67 in  Best Online MBA Programs (tie) 
#71 in  Best Online Master's in Nursing Programs (tie) 
#86 in  Best Online Bachelor's Programs (tie) 
#108 in  Best Online Master's in Education Programs (tie)

U.S. News & World Report assessed schools based on criteria such as student engagement, student services and technology, admissions selectivity, faculty credentials and training, and peer reputation.

U.S. News & World Report also ranked the best online programs for veterans by adding "consideration of financial benefits available specifically to people with military experience." In these lists, Old Dominion's rankings are:

#16 in  Best Online Master's in Nursing Programs for Veterans 
#25 in  Best Online Master's in Engineering Programs for Veterans 
#29 in  Best Online Master's in Education Programs for Veterans (tie) 
#45 in  Best Online MBA Programs for Veterans (tie) 
#52 in  Best Online Bachelor's Programs for Veterans (tie)
