Grackle Docs

Grackle is an accessibility checker that can be used in Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides. It allows you to make your documents, spreadsheets, and presentations accessible by checking them against web accessibility standards.

After Grackle scans your Google document, it categorizes all of the content into five major areas: images, headings, tables, landmarks, and content. The content is further broken down into individual pieces and marked as accessible or not accessible. For content marked not accessible, Grackle provides basic guidance on how to resolve the issue.

Notes

  • Grackle is an add-on that must be downloaded and added to Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides on first use.
  • Users must be logged into their ODU Google Workspace account to access Grackle.
