Faculty Support Services

  • Digital Learning Operations will handle the technology to deliver your live synchronous course while you concentrate on instruction.

For assistance during a live class, message the technician connected to your class meeting or call 757-683-3173. For assistance with changes to upcoming live classes, such as providing access to a guest speaker, please email dloperations@odu.edu.

  • For technical assistance outside of your live class meeting, contact the ITS Help Desk for 24-hour support at itshelp@odu.edu or 757-683-3192, or browse the ITS service portal for answers to common technical issues.

During the course development process with Digital Learning, our staff will also assist and guide faculty developers on the use of instructional technology tools.

The Instructure Community provides a variety of useful resources including step-by-step instructor guides and instructor videos.

If you are unable to locate a resource regarding your question on the Instructure Community site, you can reach out to Canvas directly from inside the application.

  1. Login to Canvas at ODU.
  2. Connect to chat or the Canvas hotline.
  3. Or, select Help from the Global Navigation Pane on the left.

New to Canvas? You can self-enroll in the Digital Innovation Presents: Self-Paced Canvas Workshops or access the Digital Innovation video playlist to learn more about how Canvas works.

Above is an example of the videos available through the Instructure Community.
