Set Expectations for Feedback

Students appreciate knowing how they will receive feedback from you about their assignments. Consider addressing the following questions in your Syllabus or Getting Started module.

  • What is your average response time? When can students expect to receive your feedback?
  • Do you provide feedback on drafts?
  • What's your revision policy?
  • What format will you use to provide feedback (written comments, audio or video recordings)?
  • How can students address your feedback?

Finally, encourage your students to seek clarification on feedback and ask for additional explanations if necessary.

By clearly outlining these aspects in your student feedback policy, you provide students with a roadmap for understanding how feedback will be delivered, what to expect, and how they can use feedback to enhance their learning experience.
