We are excited to introduce Panopto, a new enterprise video platform that will replace Kaltura at ODU for creating, managing, and delivering videos, particularly within Canvas courses.

The training sessions below will introduce the platform and explore how to use it effectively in Canvas. 

Please note that registration for each event closes 24 hours before the event start time.

Panopto Basics: Creating and Editing Videos

This session introduces the core features of Panopto, focusing on how to create and edit videos using Panopto Capture. You will learn how to access and use Panopto Capture, record and edit videos, and upload them to the platform. This workshop includes a hands-on opportunity for participants to practice using Panopto Capture during the session.

Panopto Assignments: Quizzes & Student Submissions

This session covers how to enhance interactivity in your Canvas course using Panopto. You will learn how to create and embed Panopto quizzes in Canvas, link quiz results to the gradebook, and leverage the discussion feature within Panopto videos to foster student engagement. The session also demonstrates how to set up video assignments that allow students to submit their own recordings, as well as how to review student-submitted videos and analyze quiz performance data.

Panopto Organization & Analytics: Folders, Migrated Content & Video Analytics

This session helps faculty organize their Panopto content and track how students engage with videos. You will learn how to create and manage course folders, update and organize your migrated Kaltura content, and use reference copies to share content across multiple courses. The session also includes guidance on securely sharing video content with students and colleagues, as well as how to analyze video statistics to monitor student viewing patterns and engagement.
