  • Students who are admitted and enrolled in an ODU undergraduate degree program are eligible for (3) 300-level CPD elective credits upon completion of this program.

Susan Craft, SHRM-SCP, SPHR, GPHR, and Founder & CEO of Consulting by Design of Princess Anne, has been a Strategic Business Partner with leading firms in the area for over 25 years. Susan is the Immediate Past Chair of the Eggleston Board of Directors, Past State Council Director for Virginia SHRM State Council, and Past President for Hampton Roads Society for Human Resource Management and continues to serve on various boards and committees throughout the state. 

Susan teaches for Old Dominion University Continuing Education and Strome College of Business. Stacy Hawks, MBA, SHRM-SCP, SPHR, IPMA-SCP is a Senior Human Resources Analyst with over sixteen years of experience in the private and public sectors. Her broad experience includes employee relations, compensation, organizational development, talent acquisition, management, payroll, and benefits. Her career has included work in various industries including professional services, technology, public safety and medical services.

She has served as the President of the Hampton Roads SHRM Chapter and in various leadership roles at both the local and state levels of HRSHRM and VASHRM. Stacy lends her expertise to various activities including being a judge for Best Place to Work For in Hampton Roads and serving as a member of the Human Resources Committee at Eggleston Services.

The SHRM-CP and SHRM-SCP certifications are built upon the SHRM Body of Applied Skills and Knowledge™ (SHRM BASK™)which is more than an exam outline. It defines the standards for knowledge, strategies and competencies required for effective HR professionals around the world.

Our course is based on the SHRM Learning System® for SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCPComprised of comprehensive learning modules teaching the SHRM Body of Applied Skills and Knowledge™ (SHRM BASK™), and advanced online multimedia resources, these study materials streamline study time, accelerate learning and build confidence for passing the SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP exam. Our certification preparation course is designed primarily for individuals seeking SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification.

Certification is a great choice for HR professionals who want to:

    • Registration: $1,425
    • Discount for Military, ODU Alumni/Students, & SHRM Members: $1,375
    • Course fee includes all books, including one year access to the SHRM online learning resources, but does not include registration for the SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP examinations.
    • Discounts will not be provided for students that purchased outside books or materials.
  • ODU Continuing Education (CE) is offering our Learning System students an opportunity to purchase the Learning Systems course, SHRM Test Prep course, and your SHRM Exam Voucher for a discounted price of $1,800.  This is a savings of over $300.

    In addition, those students interested in the Tuition Bundle can also take advantage of our Payment Plan. The following guidelines will apply:

    1. Total tuition must be paid in full before the start of the SHRM Learning Systems Course.
    2. Make a down payment for as little as $600
    3. Choose to make 1 or 2 additional payments.
    4. CE will invoice you for the remainder of the amount owed.

    You can take advantage of the tuition bundle and/or payment plan during registration.

  • To withdraw from a course you must send a request in writing to davans@odu.edu (7) days prior the start date of the course. Failure to attend a course does not constitute withdrawal. Course registration fees, less a $50 processing fee will be refunded via the original form of payment. There are no refunds once the class has begun. Late withdrawals of six (6) days or less before the class begins, will result in the student being charged the $50 processing fee, as well as charges for books and/or other course material fees.

  • While this program will explore SHRM's Learning System content at a high level, it will focus primarily on answering test preparation questions including:

    • How can I use the SHRM Learning System features to position myself for exam success?
    • How should I prepare for answering the exam's knowledge-based and situational judgment questions?
    • What should I expect on the day of the exam?
