Susan Craft, SHRM-SCP, SPHR, GPHR, and Founder & CEO of Consulting by Design of Princess Anne, has been a Strategic Business Partner with leading firms in the area for over 25 years. Susan is the Immediate Past Chair of the Eggleston Board of Directors, Past State Council Director for Virginia SHRM State Council, and Past President for Hampton Roads Society for Human Resource Management and continues to serve on various boards and committees throughout the state. 

Susan teaches for Old Dominion University Continuing Education and Strome College of Business. Stacy Hawks, MBA, SHRM-SCP, SPHR, IPMA-SCP is a Senior Human Resources Analyst with over sixteen years of experience in the private and public sectors. Her broad experience includes employee relations, compensation, organizational development, talent acquisition, management, payroll, and benefits. Her career has included work in various industries including professional services, technology, public safety and medical services.

She has served as the President of the Hampton Roads SHRM Chapter and in various leadership roles at both the local and state levels of HRSHRM and VASHRM. Stacy lends her expertise to various activities including being a judge for Best Place to Work For in Hampton Roads and serving as a member of the Human Resources Committee at Eggleston Services.

    Tuition includes 12-month access to the SHRM Essentials of Human Resources program, a mobile-friendly digital hub that covers six fundamental HR topic areas. Each topic has an easy to navigate playlist of videos, podcasts, e-learning resources, and downloadable learning aids.

    *Course materials are available online only via the digital hub, there are no print materials.

  • To withdraw from a course you must send a request in writing to davans@odu.edu (7) days prior the start date of the course. Failure to attend a course does not constitute withdrawal. Course registration fees, less a $50 processing fee will be refunded via the original form of payment. There are no refunds once the class has begun. Late withdrawals of six (6) days or less before the class begins, will result in the student being charged the $50 processing fee, as well as charges for books and/or other course material fees.

  • Continuing Education can accept payments for courses in several different forms. ODU's helpful staff can assist you in determining if you might qualify for any number of various funding options that could assist you with non-credit continuing educational opportunities to improve your marketability and advance your career.

  • While this program will explore SHRM's Learning System content at a high level, it will focus primarily on answering test preparation questions including:

    • How can I use the SHRM Learning System features to position myself for exam success?
    • How should I prepare for answering the exam's knowledge-based and situational judgment questions?
    • What should I expect on the day of the exam?
