Why ODU for Pediatric Nursing?

Learn how to provide quality care for newborns through young adults. In ODU's online master of science in nursing - pediatric clinical nurse specialist program, you'll explore practice models, standards, and regulations for advanced nursing practice.

You will focus on advanced clinical knowledge, leadership, and technology integration into practice. You'll also learn how to design, implement and evaluate nursing assessments, interventions, and programs.

As part of the program, you must occasionally travel to ODU's School of Nursing in Virginia Beach. There you will receive scheduled training and/or testing at certain points in the program. We're proud to collaborate with Eastern Virginia Medical School's Standardized Patient Program. There, specialized actors provide safe practicum experiences where you will learn and refine clinical skills. You will also complete a practicum.

ODU's Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Master of Science in Nursing, and Doctor of Nursing Practice are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. This CNS MSN program is approved by the Virginia Joint Boards of Nursing and Medicine.

Traineeship grants may be available to assist with tuition, dependent on grant funding.

* Note: This program is not available in the state of Washington.
