Learn how to provide quality care for newborns through young adults. In ODU's online master of science in nursing - pediatric clinical nurse specialist program, you'll explore practice models, standards, and regulations for advanced nursing practice.
You will focus on advanced clinical knowledge, leadership, and technology integration into practice. You'll also learn how to design, implement and evaluate nursing assessments, interventions, and programs.
As part of the program, you must occasionally travel to ODU's Ellmer School of Nursing in Virginia Beach. There you will receive scheduled training and/or testing at certain points in the program. Our MSN program collaborates with Eastern Virginia Medical School's Standardized Patient Program which provides safe practicum experiences with specialized actors where you can learn and refine clinical skills. You will also complete a practicum.
The baccalaureate degree program in nursing, master's degree program in nursing, and Doctor of Nursing Practice program at Old Dominion University is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). This CNS MSN program is approved by the Virginia Joint Boards of Nursing and Medicine.
Traineeship grants may be available to assist with tuition, dependent on grant funding.
