Our fully accredited post-MSN Doctor of Nursing Practice program will help advance the roles and practice skills of advanced practice nurses. The program is perfect for nurse practitioners, nurse midwives, clinical nurse specialists and nurse anesthetists.

You will learn to address the needs of the under-served and vulnerable populations. Advanced practice nurses serve as leaders, researchers, and expert clinicians in addressing health disparities and barriers to healthcare.

The baccalaureate degree program in nursing, master's degree program in nursing, and Doctor of Nursing Practice program at Old Dominion University is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).

    Although most courses are available online, you will be required to come to ODU's School of Nursing in Virginia Beach once a semester for an extended weekend of advising and experiential activities.

  • Access course materials online from any location. Many classes don't have a scheduled meeting time, so you can fit class into your personal schedule. The instructor may schedule assignments and exams at specific times. All courses follow ODU's regular academic calendar. 

    You are also required to visit ODU's School of Nursing in Virginia Beach once a semester for an extended weekend of advising and experiential activities.
