Give an Hour: A Community Conversation Supporting our Military, Veterans and their Families
Give an Hour, a national nonprofit organization providing free mental health services to veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan and their loved ones, has been administering the Community Blueprint, a collaborative effort to help communities address the needs of veterans and military families on a local level, in Hampton Roads for the last two years. As our program (part of a $2 million grant from the Bristol-Myers Squibb Foundation) wraps up, Give an Hour is hosting a town hall at ODU University on Tuesday, October 29 from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM EST.
We invite you to join our live webcast, featuring moderated panels, followed by a Q/A which will engage local leaders, veterans, service members, and military spouses, as we address creative problem-solving through the Community Blueprint and other local initiatives.
We truly believe that ensuring service men and women-and their loved ones-have easy access to mental health services and coordinated care will help keep our military healthy and strong. We are committed to helping raise awareness within the general population about the challenges faced by service members so that communities will embrace military families and appreciate the skills, talents, and dedication service men and women embody.
